Fixing floppy access for ArahWeave on SUSE 10.3

The package mtools, which enables ArahWeave floppy support, is not installed by default on Opensuse 10.3 or some previous versions.

Installing mtools from Openuse 10.3 Linux DVD

Insert Suse Linux installation DVD into DVD drive. To open Yast click the K Menu icon on the panel and choose System > YaST. You will need to enter the root password.

In the Yast window click Software management.

To find mtools package, use Search filter in Yast.

Type mtools in the text field, click the Search button. Check the field on the left of the mtools name, and click the Accept button in the bottom right corner.

Once the installation is complete, Yast pops up the Writing the system configuration window and asks if you want to install or remove more packages. Just click No.

Installing from from ArahWeave installation CD

Insert ArahWeave installation CD into CD drive. The file manager will display CD's content. Click on the mtools-3.9... icon.

Click Install package with Yast.

To run Yast you will need to type the root password.

When you click the OK button, you will be taken to a new screen. This screen shows the progress of the installation. Once this process is complete the screen will close automatically.
