Wacom tablet configuration under Suse 10.0

Like any other hardware on Suse Linux 10.0 you can configure your Intuos 2/3 with Yast. To open Yast, click the K Menu icon on the panel and choose System > Yast. You will need to enter the root (administrator) password.

In Yast click the icon labeled Hardware, and then Graphics Card and Monitor. After few seconts new window (SaX2: SUSE Advanced xX11 Configuration) opens.
setup7-2

In the Sax2 window click on the Tablet icon.
setup4-3

In the Tablet Properties section check the Activate This Tablet button, and choose your tablet manufacturer and model.
setup7-4

Click the Port and Mode tab, if you want to change the tablet mode. Normally you want to have the Relative mode for tablet (mouse), and the Absolute mode for a pen and an eraser. Absolute is default mode for both, tablet and pen.
setup7-6

Then click the Electronic Pens tab. Check Add Pen and Add Eraser checkboxes.
setup7-6

Click the OK button. SaX2 shows the following message. Since you have not change any other settings, you can skip Test, and just click the Save button.
setup7-6

In the next Message window click the Yes button to exit configuration tool. The tablet configuration will work, when you login next time into KDE.
